About us

Leslie Bartlett L.C.P.C. graduated from Lesley College with an MA in Expressive Arts Therapy in 1982. She has always been fascinated with the connection between creative expression & how systems support growth. This led her to study family systems & then narrative therapy with it’s wonderful concept of learning to re-author our own story. Imago, with it’s focus on deep curative work combined with the building of a practical skill set and education about how the body works, has brought her to her present work with couples. Additionally, her years of mediation practice & Tai Chi inform the mind/body/spirit orientation of her work.

Steven Klockow L.C.S.W. received an MSW from Boston University School of Social Work in 1990. He has worked in special education, residential treatment and community mental health. He has been a practitioner of mindfulness meditation for over 20 years and regularly incorporates these teachings into his work. He is an avid & enthusiastic explorer of all aspects of health & well-being from Nutrition to Neuroscience. He completed his 96-hour Imago Relationship Therapy Certification in 2003 and has been specializing in couples counseling since. He continues to meet wtih adolescents as well as individuals and families.

Continuing Education: Since completing their IMAGO certifications, Leslie & Steven have gone on to study the work of John & Julie Gottman (the Gottman Institute) and have completed their level I Training. Their work during the past few years has also been informed by Susan Johnson’s emotionally focused attachment perspective, recent advances in neuroscience (see Daniel Siegal’s work The Mindful Brain) and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy as it has been laid out in Pat Ogden’s work Trauma & the Body.

Our work is also significantly informed by teachings from Asia, specifically mindfulness, tai chi and chi kung. We have both been involved with mindfulness practice for the past 20 + years., learning from numerous teachers at the Insight Meditation Society in Barre Massachusettes as well as from Thich Naht Hahn (see Plum Village). We are currently studying Spring Forest Chi Kung.
